What is Rush Immunotherapy? Updated Rush Immunotherapy Reviews

A speeded-up version, "rush immunotherapy," is performed when a person suddenly needs protection from an anticipated exposure and does not have time for gradual desensitization.

Because of increased risks of a reaction, the patient is hospitalized for constant monitoring, and literally rushed through the first phases. Instead of daily or weekly shots, steadily stronger doses of extract are given every one to two hours for a period of five to ten days. Once the maintenance dose is reached, the patient goes on a schedule similar to conventional treatment.

WARNING: This is still an experimental therapy.
