Treatment has many success stories, from moderate to major. The advantages of immunotherapy are that it attacks the cause, not the symptoms, has a long safety record, and uses no drugs. But it also has failures and should not be considered a cure.

Best results come from persons with:

•      Clear-cut IgE-mediated allergies to specific airborne substances—most food allergies don't respond to shots.

•      Poor or inadequate response to medication

•      Symptoms that have persisted over several seasons or throughout the year
